On the morning of July 14th, the Gaokun Calligraphy Art Museum in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, held a grand unveiling ceremony. At the event, colorful flags fluttered and crowds gathered, creating a lively atmosphere. After the unveiling ceremony, the guests visited the "Mo Dao Bing Xin - Gao Kun Calligraphy Exhibition". A total of 90 calligraphy works by Gao Kun were exhibited, featuring various calligraphic styles such as regular script, clerical script, running script, and cursive script, fully demonstrating Mr. Gao Kun's profound calligraphy skills and unique artistic style. The content of the work includes both ancient poetry, famous quotes, and self composed poems, combining traditional charm with contemporary atmosphere, making the audience intoxicated.
The completion of Gaokun Calligraphy Art Museum is a major event in the calligraphy art world of Liaoning. As an important venue for Mr. Gao Kun's calligraphy learning, exchange, and creative research, the museum received strong support from colleagues in the calligraphy industry and friendly individuals during the preparation period. The name of the museum was inscribed by Mr. Zhang Hai, former chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association. The art museum is located in Yuhong District, Shenyang City, with a garden style independent courtyard and a building area of over 1800 square meters, covering an area of over 5000 square meters. The art museum is carefully designed with diverse functions, featuring three exhibition halls with a total exhibition line of 220 meters. It also has a creative room, a collection room, an office, a conference room, a media studio, a reception room, etc., providing an ideal art world for the study, research, creative exchange, exhibition and promotion of calligraphy art. The art museum prioritizes serving retired soldiers and also serves social artists, serving as an important platform for the inheritance of red culture and traditional culture.
Mr. Gao Kun is a military calligrapher with profound calligraphy skills. He was born in Shenqiu County, Henan Province in 1972, enlisted in March 1990, and graduated from the PLA Ordnance Engineering College in July 1995. Former calligraphy creator of the Political Department of the Shenyang Military Region, former Secretary General and Office Director of the Shenyang Military Region Art and Calligraphy Research Institute, member of the Art Committee of the People's Liberation Army Art and Calligraphy Research Institute, member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, Vice Chairman of the Third Heilongjiang Calligraphers Association, Director of the Chinese Poetry Association, and member of the Chinese Couplet Association.
After bidding farewell to his military career, Comrade Gao Kun remained true to his original intention and his military spirit will forever reside. He went deep into the grassroots, entered the military, entered communities and schools, gave lectures, provided guidance, and held exhibitions, tirelessly serving the military and society. We have successively held exhibitions such as "Black Soil and Loess Soil - Gao Kun Calligraphy Works Exhibition" and "Gao Kun Calligraphy Hometown Report Exhibition" in our hometown, and organized exhibitions such as "Eternal Military Spirit - Liaoning Celebrating the 92nd Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Calligraphy and Painting Works Exhibition" and "Deep Military Civilian Love - Liaoning Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Yan'an Double Support Movement Calligraphy and Painting Works Exhibition" in Shenyang; Every year before the Spring Festival, we organize public welfare activities such as "Liaoning Welcoming Spring, Sending Blessings and Writing Spring Couplets", and also hold a public auction of personal calligraphy works.
